Do you think its selfish when people tell depressed people not to commit suicide?
I mean here you are, living your nice perfect good life and probably has no idea what depression is like, and than you tell the depressed person to keep living his or her worst nightmare and that things will get better. Its like if someone was shot and in great pain, and there was no wait he would make it alive, but you tell him or her that to keep on suffering and that things will get better. I actually think its quite the opposite. For you to reach out to someone that is depressed, and talk to them, isnt selfish at all. You are just proof that there is something out there, and it will get better. Depression fogs the mind. Sometimes you cant see past it. People that are suicidal from depression need someone to help them realize things what they cant see themselves.
