How Come The PS Does Not Play PS?

Question

How Come The PS Does Not Play PS?
Why didnt they make the PS backwards compatible to be able to play PS.

Answer

Because you waited too long to buy one.brbrThe first few ps models, the CECH a and b and gb ntsc can play all ps games. sony included both the pss cpu and graphics chip so it has a ps mode.brbrBut nobody was buying them! The ps was selling horribly and the Wii had stolen its launch thunder. Even at a unit, they were losing tons of money on each console. Even when they took out the cpu from the European CECH C it was still too expensive to make. And they needed to lower the price. The next American models were the first , the CECH E, and those also had the ps gpu but not cpu, and could play most but not all ps games. brbrBut again not enough people bought them, and instead everyone kept whining quotwe want a price cut, we want a price cutquot even though Sony was selling them worth of product for . So Sony removed the ps gpu as well, along with the memory card slots.brbrThe ps games are no problem because they can be done with just software emulation. The ps is different. There is no perfect emulator for ps games using totally nonps hardware. This includes on pcs, ps emulators dont work very well. So Sony can make ps emulators easily, but ps emulation is very hard to do. brbrbtw Sonys ps emulator is probably the best ever made. Much better than the pc emulators like epsxe and so forth. brbrOn the positive side, no ps is more than years and months old. You could find a pscapable ps, if you look on craigslist, or somewhere else used. Look for model number CECH A, B, C or E on the back, and look for usb ports on the front. Memory card slots is best also.brbrltthe bit about ps games not running well isnt true. I have a CECHA, the ntsc , and it plays all of my ps games perfectly... the pal s and the ntsc s had a few problems, but they could play about of ps games without issues.gt
